It’s a movie!!!!!!!!!!!!Coming out in June and getting the red carpet treatment in L.A. Afterwards will follow a DVD release and eventual Hub T..v. Network release in time.
“We are responding to the desire by our fans to experience the brand in more ways,” said John A. Frascotti, Hasbro’s chief marketing officer. “They imagined themselves as which pony they would be or which pony they identified with the most.”
“Our goal is to stay true to who those characters are,” said Meghan McCarthy, the head writer for the movie, adding that the high school setting allowed for new storytelling possibilities. “It’s new but still an extension of our mythology.”
It will connect to the fourth generation story that we all have gotten to love, but so far all we know is that Twilight Sparkle is the only pony that makes the jump. This is the first time that the company in charge of this franchise is putting forth some money to this brand. It’s starting to generate some real cash for them. A 23 percent rise in sales for their merchandise is a big plus. There are still a lot of unknowns here, could this become a series, will it replace the current? At least for now we know that we have a movie coming. Comment below and let us know your feels.
